MARCUS ADAMS (1875-1959) WAS A WELL KNOWN SOCIETAL AND BY 1919 NOTED PHOTOGRAPHER OF CHILDREN. HE SHARED STUDIO SPACE AND STAFF WITH YVONNE GREGORY AND HER HUSBAND NOTED PHOTOGRAPHER BERTRAM PARK. THE GROUP WAS KNOWN AS "THE THREE PHOTOGRAPHERS". ADAMA WAS THE SON OF A PHOTOGRAPHER AND ESPECIALLY GIFTED IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN. HIS PORTION OF THE STUDIO COMPRISED OF A ASSEMBLY OF PROPS THAT HID THE ACTUAL CAMERA FROM HIS YOUNG SITTERS. ADAMS IS OFTEN PORTRAYED IN VARIOUS PHOTOGRAPHS PLAYING WITH THE CHILDREN. THE WHOLE TIME HE WAS MANUFACTURING A PLAYFUL ENVIRONMENT, THE CAMERA BEHIND THE FIREPLACE OR HIDDEN WALL WAS TAKING CANDID PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE CHILDREN IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT HAVING FUN.
